The trade name of this aluminum laminate as originated by the aluminum company of america is alcad.

With its high strength and excellent fatigue resistance it is used to advantage on structures and parts where good strength to weight ratio is desired. 705t6 alclad aluminum is available in a variety of sizes. 2024t3 aluminum sheet has excellent fatigue resistance. 7075 aluminum is among the highest strength alloys available and used in highly stressed parts.

Alclad is a trademark of alcoa but the term is also used generically. It is readily formed in the annealed condition and may be subsequently heat treated. From this trade name the adjective clad and the verb cladding have been derived. It has a melting point of about 500 degrees celsius or 932 degrees fahrenheit.
